If you compare dada with some important art movements that came into being in the same period, like expressionism, cubism, futurism and surrealism, that point becomes clear. If you look at dadaistic art you see a randomly mixture of those movements, without any coherent logic.
But dada was more. Dadaists organized soirees and salons, they discussed about art, exposed their art, published magazines, posters and manifestoes, etcetera. Precisely this magnitude and diversity of activities make it typical dada.
History makes that obvious. In every place dada manifested itself in a complete other form.
