Zürich First abstract wood reliefs by Hans Arp. January ZürichFirst dada exposition in Galerie Corray. Zürich Francis Picabia starts 391; 19 numbers between 1917 and 1924. March Zürich tristan Tzara en Hugo Ball take over Galerie Corray over from Corray in Basel and call it Galerie Dada. Zürich 17 March-7 April: Sturm exposition in Galerie Dada. Zürich 27 March: opening Galerie Dada. Zürich 28 March: The landlord of Galerie Dada Sprüngli threatens Hugo Ball with eviction, after the organisation of other activities than expositions. Zürich 29 March: Openings party Galerie Dada. Zürich 31 March: Sprüngli denies the dadaists the use of Galerie Dada, becaus they did not sign the contract en did not pay in advance. Without consequences. April Zürich 9-30 April: Second Sturm exposition in Galerie Dada. Zürich 14 April: Secon dada-soirée. Sturm-soirée in Galerie Dada. Zürich 28 April: Third dada-soirée in Galerie Dada ('Abend Neuer Kunst'). Zürich 30 April: Sprüngli informs Hugo Ball and tristan Tzara about noise nuisance, and threatens with eviction. Zürich Richard Huelsenbeck wants to return. He wants information about Galerie Dada. May Berlin Untill June several 'Autorenabenden' are held. Zürich 2-29 May: expostition of prinst, broderie and relief in Galerie Dada. Zürich 10 May: matinée with discussions and literary lectures. Zürich 12 May: Fourth dada-soirée in Galerie Dada. Private meeting about alte und Neue Kunst. Zürich 19 May: Fifth dada-soirée. Reprise of the theme alte und Neue Kunst for the general public. Zürich 25 May: Sixth dada-soirée in Galerie Dada (Soirée Hans Heusser). Zürich End May: Hugo Ball leaves Zürich. He definitively breaks with dada. Galerie Dada closes with a deficit. June Zürich Hugo Ball returns. He wants to settle the payments for Galerie Dada with tristan Tzara, and treatens to take tristan Tzara to court. Hans Richter appeases. Zürich In the end of June Hugo Ball retires with Emmy Hennings in Ascona. July Zürich The magazine Dada 1 appears. Editorial address: Marcel Janco. Fall Zürich Dadaists proclaim themselves officially Mouvement Dada. Hugo Ball travels as editor of the Freien Zeitung to Bern. December Zürich Dada 2 appears. "Direktion: Tzara" editorial address Hans Arp. Arp supports Dada 2 financially. Mouvement Dada organizes order service for books. |
