Picabia
Born 22 januari 1987 in Paris. Died 30 november 1953.
Painter and poet of French origin.
At 20 Picabia was already a renowned painter in Impressionist
style. Later he evolved via futuristic, cubistic and orphistic
influences to a style which can be called dadaist.
In 1913 Picabia is exhibited in the scandalized exposition the
Armory Show alongside paintings of het longlife friend Marcel
Duchamp.
In 1915 Picabia travels to New York, where he meets
Alfred Stieglitz.
Soon after this meeting Picabia founds his magazine 391,
named after the gallerie of Stieglitz, 291.
